As the small boy drank, he still coughed. He ended up coughing worse, his face red and moved away from the cup. By the time his mother came back with the nail polish, there was a tiny red line of blood down one corner of his lips.

Aurelius let the girl take the glass. "I'll get him his medicine." the woman said hurriedly, placing the nail polish on the table. She then went to one of the cabinets and opened it to grab multiple medications that the doctors gave her. He needed multiple since it was a drug-resistant strain of active tuberculosis. She was nervous every time Aurelius coughed liked that. "Can...c-can you put him on a chair, sweetie?"

When the boy was done taking medicine, he smiled at his sister gleefully. There as a twinkle in his eyes as he did so. He was completely unaware about the severity of his diseases, he was oblivious to his possibly shortened life.

He squealed and clapped excitedly. Gold gave a smile, though it wasn't really a real smile. She was still a little shaken up. "Since Aurelius is sitting, I guess we can paint his nails first. So, pink, gray or green?"

"Pink!" She said. Aurelius squealed at the color (not really knowing his colors. It didn't matter to him) and clapped his hands. He said "Yay" multiple times. "Do you want to paint his nails, Altair?" she asked.
