"I-I'm on it," the young woman said, ripping part of her skirt and going to wrap Aurelius' forehead with it, since the bleeding seems to be leaking from there. "I think Shiki's paralyzed, I-I haven't seen him move."

"Why isn't Shiki moving anymore?" Clancy asked.

Altair just stroked his hair again. "He's hurt. He'll move soon," she assured him softly. Kronos said nothing as he continued to try and stop the bleeding.

"What will make him better?" Clancy asked. "What's that red stuff?"

Shiki's smile faded as he started to close his eyes, tired. The person who was driving approached, "I-I'm sorry, I didn't see them." he said. The ambulance was heard in the distance.

"it wasn't your fault entirely," said Kronos, not looking up from what he was doing. "Stay awake, Shiki."
"It's blood. Like when you scrape your knee," said Altair, a little uncertainly.

"Why is there a lot?"

The ambulance came, approaching hurriedly with stretchers. One of them examined Shiki from where he was standing. "How bad?" he asked. Aurelius coughed up blood.

"Paralyzed," said Kronos, not looking up.
"Because..," said Altair, not wanting to answer, tears starting to appear in her eyes.

"We'll put him on the stretcher and take him to the nearest hospital." he said, going to take Shiki. Another paramedic held Aurelius, rushing to the truck as fast as he could.

Kronos let him. "I wish to accompany you there. These boys are my sons," he added.
Altair just held Clancy closer to her.

"Sis? They're taking Shiki and Dynes! No!"

"Sir, we need to operate on them as the truck goes to the hospital. It'd be best if you followed by car." he said as he went to the back of the truck.

"Then let me ride in the front. These are my sons, I need to be with them," he said, calmly.

"They're going to make them all better," Altair told Clancy.

"Oh. Shiki looks pale."

"Okay...but only you. I'm sorry for your wife and two other kids." He climbed into the back of the truck, hooked Shiki up to a heart monitor (in which his heart rate was slow) and without wasting time, he and another doctor started to operate on the boys.

Altair just nodded.

"Altair," Gold said, her hands covered in Aurelius's blood. "Let's go home and get to the hospital in the car, okay?"

The paramedic gave the signal for the driver to go, closing the door. "Daddy..." Aurelius managed to say. "It hurts..."

"I know Aurelius... hang in there," he said gently, looking out the window.

Altair nodded again, going to let go of Clancy.

The men were halfway to the hospital when Shiki's heart monitor showed a flat line. Immediately they got to work on resuscitating him, doing all they can to bring him back to life. Thanatos hummed as he watched the scene, ready to take Shiki's soul to Purgatory. Humans can't see him unless they are spiritual.

"No!" Clancy said, frightened to let go of his sister's hand. "What if you hurt too?"

Altair held his hand. "I'm not hurt," she said gently.

"It's just what I do. No hard feelings." Thanatos replied, taking Shiki's soul.

"B-But....S-Shi...and Dynes...!"

"They'll be alright," she assured the boy, and herself.

Thanatos seemed to think about it, "Nope!" he said and then disappeared with it. The doctors stopped, giving up when they concluded that Shiki can't be saved.

The boy looked unsure.

Kronos closed his eyes, thinking to himself.

Altair gave him a smile.

The car stopped in front of the hospital and the doctors got out, covering Shiki with a white sheet. Aurelius didn't understand it---he was looking at Shiki the entire time.

Clancy then started to drag Altair to follow their mother. "Can we see Shiki and Dynes?"

Kronos opened his eyes on arrival and got out. "Give him a room," said Kronos to the doctors. "Whatever the cost, it doesn't matter."

Altair followed, not sure how to answer.

"O...kay...." one of the doctors said, slowly and unsurely. He signaled his partner nearest the child to get him to a room. He then continued to write down the record for time of death. "What was his name?" he asked.

"Can we?"
