The journals of two star-crossed lovers have been uncovered from a box from the time period of the Salem Witch Trials. Both are mostly blank, but tell a story. When one reads them, they feel themselves in the flash backs of the writers it seems. The one tells the story of a king known as Frith "Carnage" Acario Quarantine. The other is Clara "Chaos" Royale. This is their story, and the story of their kin as well.

Frith's Notebook
The Pottery Girl

Recently, I got a journal to keep everything in. All my stories. So, today I shall start. For the upcoming festival here, I have sent out for artisans of all kinds. The potter girl from the village showed up to discuss her ideas. I didn't listen to her, she was too beautiful. Shame, she was pregnant, it was one flaw that had to go. Overall, she seemed interesting. Yet, I have to see her more before I can lure her in as my prize. Patience isn't something I'm good at. Let's see how it goes.

He sat in the throne room, awaiting his next appointment. Supposedly it was a potter from the village. He didn't care, pottery bored him most of the times. He was more interested in gold and blacksmiths, but he had to settle for everything. It apparently was a big deal for this to go on. He sighed, chewing on a pointed bone. He would stab the jester with it later. Ah, how he wanted to eat that jester. It was a curious question how the hat would taste.

Chaos's Diary

The Appointment With The King

467 B.C

I met up with the king and gave my ideas for him. I didn't think that he was listening but I tried anyway. I hoped that he would consider my ideas. My child is to be born in a few months though. I hoped I would at least earn some more money to help my husband. It's a shame after living through the human history that happened so far, I would be reduced to such a state. I don't mind since I do have an artistic nature.

Though I did find the king rather attractive, I still love my husband and I will be faithful to him. Stark has been quite ill and we've been earning less and less money. I hope that this appointment would make a difference in my child's and my husband's life in a good manner.

She entered the room nervously. She approached the throne and knelt down in front of him, giving respect. "My Lord." she said. She had her hand on her belly, where the child was growing. She had a glimpse as to what the king was eating and wondering that if the king didn't like her, that was her fate. Her dress was simple. Her hair was messy. She was poor, her family was poor. It was odd being such a "goddess" and reduced to being so poor. She felt pathetic in front of the king. Pathetic and ugly.

"Greetings young potter girl," he said calmly. His red eyes raked over her, his long black hair groomed to perfection. "I take it you are in charge of all the pottery? Does this include dining sets as well?" Frith's eyes studied her. A beautiful girl should not be in such a state. He felt pity for his prize.

She looked at him with her sky blue eyes. "Yes," she answered. "I have some already made. I've brought an example of my skill and expertise." She unfurled the small cloth she had in her other hand. It was a plate, extravagant designs and lovely patterns on it. It seemed to represent the ocean with the swirls.

"Now, what reason do I have to pick your group to do the festivity's pottery?" he asked. He watched her silently. In a way, he didn't care. Still, for the fools of the castle, he had to seem fair. He just wanted to hire her for her beauty. In a richer life, she'd be gorgeous and taken care of. Oh how much Frith wanted this woman. The desire was growing with each glance at him. He looked away, which made it seem like he didn't care.

Chaos held in her breath and huffed. "Whatever reason it may be," she said. "Whatever you want, my lord, I shall accept." She thought that he was going to dismiss her. She held her ground though. She kept her silence a little before talking again, softer. "Anything you wish, I promise." She needed to help support her husband.

"Whatever I want?" he asked, a small purr in his voice. He looked at her then away once more. "Are you married, child?" Frith played with his rings. A plan was forming in his mind, and it would take time. Yet, he needed her to be there for it. Show her the price it'd cost for those words. Perfect, it was ever so perfect.

She thought that was a strange question. "Yes," she said simply. "I am married and expecting his child. What of my marriage, my lord, if I may ask?" She thought of her husband. She wondered how he was, if he was ill or anything.

"No reason," he told her gently. "I was simply curious. It is a large village, I don't know everyone's spouse. Now then, why don't you and your husband come by in a few days for dinner. Does that sound like a good idea? I would love to learn more about your plans then. I have too many appointments now, but a few days from now, it'll all about you and your husband and your ideas for the festival."

"How does two days sound? Is that a fair enough amount?" Frith asked casually. He grabbed an apple off the nearby platter. Holding it in his hand, he looked at it. He was in a typical Hamlet pose before putting the apple to his lips and taking a bite.

She didn't control herself when she approached him. She leaned forward and reached for the apple. Her starvation was getting to her. She had placed her hand-made plate down.

Frith let her take it from him. "My dear, does your husband starve you?" he asked, pretending to be concerned. He was a very good actor. "Is he treating you right?" He watched her the whole time, curious about her. He gestured for a servant to get more food. The servant vanished to obey.

The servant brought back a platter of food. Frith took it an offered it to the woman. "So, he doesn't treat you right?" he asked.

"He doesn't treat me well, I agree..." she said. "He finds himself more higher. I'm just a woman. But I'm faithful." She took the platter from him.

Frith sighed, tsking a little. "You don't have to stay with him if he treats you like that. There are better men out there my dear." He smiled at her gently. "And you can take that platter of food home in exchange for the plate."
