"Y-Yeah." he said, "I'd suffer a million heartbreaks for my daughter's happiness." He did need to learn to put aside his personal emotions when it came to his daughter's happiness--even if he was forced to divorce a woman he loves so much or marry a woman other than the woman he loves. He'd do it all for Delilah.

He sighed, "My happiness is like a rose with thorns, I try to take it but the thorns of sadness and grief hurts me. If I ignore that pain, the pulsing of that wound will remind me that I've been hurt." He chuckled, "And yet, I'm clutching onto that rose of happiness desperately. How long before I drop it, Sister?"

Irritation blossomed in his eyes a little and he couldn't help but give a soft growl. "It was her! I had faith that our marriage will last even when I found out she was cheating on me--I just...!" He stopped mid-sentence to let silence take over for a moment before laughing. The irritation left him and he calmed down to his normal and gentle self. "I don't know... Maybe I'm afraid."

"Sister, my life is ruled for me!" he said getting up and pacing to and fro as he listed things that he wasn't in control of. "I was forced on being in the Council; forced to marry; wasn't exactly chosen who to marry--despite me meeting her beforehand during elementary school--who knows? I might've loved someone else; forbidden to go outside; had to have an heir; have to be king to a Clan I don't want to be apart of; chosen to host Chaos of all things; chosen to become ruler of hell and judge of purgatory. I'm being told how to run my life by the damn Council and no one can do anything about it! So what about fear 'controlling' me, it's the Council!"

He gave a frustrated sigh, "Run away, run away oh running away. That's a great idea, except I'm a single father with a daughter to feed and there's the Council, they always know what I am up to. They're watching me, making sure I'm doing what I'm supposed to do..." He stopped pacing and ran a hand through his hair, sighing as he did so. He also had his hand on his hip. "Sorry, this is all getting to me. I don't own my life anymore."
